SALVATORIAN SCHOOL: VENUE FOR THE 1ST LAUNCHING OF SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM
The Salvatorian School run by the Salvatorian Sisters in Cebu City was the venue for the first Launching of the Financial Sustainability Program of the Philippine Region. The said launching was held on September 8, 2012, the birthday of our Blessed Mother. Members of the Salvatorian Sisters' community, Salvatorian School children with their parents, benefactors and friends graced the occasion. Spring Rain headed by Ms. Glenda Antonio with her staff were there to give full support.
The program began with an opening prayer led by the kindergarten pupils of Salvatorian School. The kids with such innocence and spontaneity were very inspiring to watch as they led the audience in praying the Hail Mary Song with choreography. Thanks to Sr. Alona, SDS, school principal and Sr. Ma. Teresa, SDS for their patience and love to train, assist the children in every way for this activity. Sr. Marianne, SDS, Cebu community coordinator gave the welcome address while intermission numbers were provided in between presentations.
A video presentation of the congregation showing its history, mission, charism, various ministries and communities was presented. Ms. Glenda Antonio encouraged and inspired the people present to share their blessings with the congregation to support its life and mission. The schoolchildren coming from the urban poor sector are the main beneficiaries under the scholarship program.
Sr. Irma, SDS regional superior, gave the closing message. She mentioned the joy and reward of giving. This was also the clear message of Jesus in the Gospel when he said, " ...when I was sick, you visited me, when I was hungry, you gave me food..., when I was a stranger- you welcomed me. Amen, Amen, I say to you, whatever you did to the least of my brothers, you did it to me...!" Mt.25:35-36
